We’re seeking an Assistant IT Project Manager who will oversee and manage a portfolio of IT initiated projects. These projects include managing technical debt, decommissioning, detoxifying, upgrading, and modernizing outdated applications, IT cost optimization and supporting IT audit activities.
The Assistant IT Project Manager will work closely with IT teams, business stakeholders, and cloud experts to ensure that these projects align with the organization strategic objectives and are delivered on time within budget. You will have opportunities to work with best-in-class teams around the globe. 

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • IT Projects Management:
    • Drive IT teams on the planning, execution, and closure of IT initiated projects, ensuring they are completed within time, scope, and budget.
    • Coordinate with IT teams to manage dependencies, resources, and deliverable
    • Maintain project documentation, including roadmaps, timelines, and status reports.
    • Identify and mitigate risks associated with IT projects
  • Budget Control:
    • Manage project budgets, ensuring that IT initiated projects remain within financial constraints.
    • Track project costs, resource allocation, and expenditures to ensure budget adherence.
    • Regularly report on budget performance, identifying any variances and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
    • Work with IT finance team to ensure accurate forecasting and financial tracking across all projects.
  • Decommissioning, Detoxifying, Upgrading, and Modernizing Applications:
    • Manage projects focused on decommissioning, detoxifying, upgrading, and modernizing outdated applications to mitigate security vulnerabilities and reduce operational costs.
    • Lead the decommissioning of legacy systems, detoxification of applications and platforms, and migration of applications to more cost-efficient and secure platforms, particularly within the AWS cloud environment.
    • Collaborate with application owners, IT security & Architecture teams to ensure that modernization and detoxification efforts are in line with organizational goals and cost-saving objectives.
  • AWS Cost Optimization
    • Oversee and implement cost-saving strategies focused on reducing IT spend.
    • Collaborate with cloud architects and engineers to identify opportunities for cost optimization, including rightsizing, reserved instances, and eliminating unused resources.
    • Develop metrics and KPIs to measure the success of AWS cost-saving initiatives and provide regular reports to stakeholders.
    • Continuously improve cost management strategies by staying updated on AWS pricing models and tools.
  • Support IT Audit Activities
    • Work closely with internal and external auditors to provide necessary documentation, ensuring compliance with IT policies and standards.
    • Manage the remediation of audit findings, especially those related to application security, and compliance.
    • Maintain an audit-ready posture across all IT projects under management.
  • Stakeholder Management
    • Engage with key stakeholders, including business leaders, cloud teams, and external partners, to ensure alignment and effective communication throughout project lifecycles.
    • Facilitate regular meetings with stakeholders to report on project progress, challenges, and IT cost-saving opportunities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications: 

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of overall working experience with technology or software development
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in IT project management with a proven track record of delivering IT projects and managing project P&L
  • Strong analytical skills to assess project performance, identify cost-saving opportunities, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Good interpersonal and teamwork skills
  • Fluency in English. Strong oral and written communication skills
  • PMP, ITIL, or other relevant certifications are highly desirable.
  • A collaborative, adaptable working style, demonstrated initiative and the ability to prioritize your time and efforts.
  • Extensive understanding of working in an agile environment
